Earlier in her career, Sophia worked across both the corporate and global network agency sides of marketing, including work with global organizations such as Citi, as well as entrepreneurial and startup environments where speed, resourcefulness, and hands-on execution are critical.
Her perspective is distinctly global. Sophia has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, Mexico, France, and the United States and speaks four languages, a fifth underway.

Marketing today accelerates company-wide transformation. Long gone are the days when marketing was simply a cost center. Modern marketing, and particularly the office of the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), can directly influence revenue, growth, customer value, and competitive advantage. As AI reshapes how companies operate and compete, marketing sits at a critical intersection of business strategy, customer intelligence, data, technology, and creativity.
The modern marketing role has a far wider impact on businesses. It is a key driver of digital and AI-enabled transformation. Marketing requires rigorous experimentation, a “Marketing Test Lab” mindset, a high-performance team, the right martech and AI capabilities, operational agility, data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and a differentiated brand. Together, these create a marketing engine designed to generate measurable, predictable, and scalable growth.
Transformation starts with understanding what clients and prospects really want. CMOs can now combine data, AI, predictive analytics, experimentation, creativity, and behavioral and neuroscience-based insights to understand not only what customers do, but why. Those insights should extend well beyond communications, influencing products and services, customer experience, operations, distribution, sales, and how an organization listens and responds to its market.
Growth comes from competitive advantage. Strong marketers build differentiated brands while continually looking for the “gold nuggets”: the customer and market insights hidden in everyday interactions, behaviors, and data that can become opportunities for growth. AI and predictive analytics dramatically expand our ability to uncover those insights, anticipate behavior, personalize experiences, and translate intelligence into action.
But technology alone is not a strategy. Sustainable growth still requires sound judgment, compelling ideas, strong partnerships, disciplined measurement, and relentless attention to performance. Successful marketers connect these capabilities through an overarching growth strategy, establish meaningful KPIs, test and learn continuously, and use data to determine what to scale, optimize, or stop. When marketing operates this way, it does more than promote the business. It helps transform it.
